Once we understand the biomolecules that make up the cell, we will put them together to see how they are arranged in cells to understand this fundamental unit of life in this course. We’ll see how membranes separate the cell from the outside world and how cells use membrane proteins to interact with the world. We’ll see how energy is produced and used in cells. Finally, we’ll discuss the signaling molecules and receptors that allow cells to talk to each other.
