You will work with virtual machines, utilize NAT and SSH, and become familiar with essential tools such as the terminal, text editors, and Visual Studio Code. The module covers fundamental computer networking concepts, including the distinctions between physical and virtual networks and the purposes of connecting to a network. You will be introduced to the TCP/IP communications suite, gain skills in system analysis, and learn the basics of DHCP and DNS. Additionally, you will receive an overview of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model and its relevance to Linux. By the end of this module, you will have a solid foundation in networking principles and lab setup, preparing you for more advanced topics in the course.
