I started this course with the goal of dipping my toes into economic theory to become more familiar with the terminology in the manuscripts I edit. (I’m a freelance English editor.) I ended up completing all three courses and obtaining my certification because the lectures were so engaging and fun. I particularly enjoyed the never-boring presentation, the visuals, and the way the assignments were designed. The fact that there was no pressure to achieve a high grade removed the temptation to ask for help. After completing this course I feel I can better understand the forces that shape our world, from micro to macroeconomics. The only downside is that I’m now seeing supply and demand curves everywhere, even in the contrails in the sky. What I’ve learned in these three courses now forms the backdrop of the economics stories I edit for my clients, making my job more enjoyable and the result more precise. The best part is that 20+ years after graduating from university, I’ve rediscovered the joy of learning. I never stopped learning, but this has been the first online course I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. I cannot recommend this course or the instructor more warmly!

While I'm writing this, my memory just goes back like a waterfall. It's been a long time since I kept in touch with this course. I had doubts about how a professor could look so young—he looked just like the coach at my school. And it turns out I was right. Jimmy was a really nice teacher; he's not just built different. He's funny, he's smart, and he's part of a generation of teachers who understand the mentality of the younger generation. He just made me so excited that I ended up studying this course through my sleep time—for a straight 16 hours. If I got a son and he just wanted to study finance for fun, I prob will give him this course, and eventually he will love finance. And not just that—the course is also really detailed. I love this course, and I just found out he has two more courses in a big certificate that includes A Story of Economics: A Principles Tale. I immediately signed up. 10/10, there's no doubt about this.

If you are understanding only one course, this should be the one . Just look around you. This course covers essential topics such as supply and demand, market equilibrium, and the role of government in addressing market failures. These concepts are crucial for understanding and navigating the complexities of our modern economy. The global economy is facing rising geopolitical tensions, (conflicts in the Middle East, ) disrupting trade and contributed to economic instability. A better understanding of international trade and economic interdependence could have helped mitigate some of these issues. Prof, Jimmy DeNicco is a economic prophet. His lectures are prescriptions for people to make better decisions and contribute to a more informed society

This course is so good. It made the basics of economics easy to understand, even if you’ve never studied it before. The examples from everyday life helped me see how the concepts actually matter, and the exercises kept me engaged without feeling overwhelmed. I feel like I now have a solid foundation to build on if I want to learn more about economics.

It was a little tougher than I expected, especially for someone with zero background in economics whatsoever. I struggled with the terms and phrases used as there was no breakdown of their meaning or introduction to the absolute basics before using them. I was expecting a much more beginner friendly course. Overall, I enjoyed the teacher's personality and methods and I think there was a lot to offer here.
