This specialization features Coursera Coach!
A smarter way to learn with interactive, real-time conversations that help you test your knowledge, challenge assumptions, and deepen your understanding as you progress through the specialization.
Learn to create stunning modular environments in Blender 4 by building an immersive Aztec city. You'll master the process of crafting reusable 3D assets and applying design techniques that balance visual appeal with technical efficiency.
Starting with core Blender navigation, references, and modeling basics, you’ll structure scenes using greyboxing. Then, expand them into detailed environments with modular architecture—pillars, arches, roofs, props, and more—while applying UV mapping, shaders, booleans, and geometry nodes for realism and speed.
Later modules focus on natural elements, lighting, animated water features, and optimization techniques to support large-scale scenes. You'll also learn to render professional day and night environments using Eevee and Cycles with final post-processing.
This specialization is ideal for aspiring 3D environment artists, game developers, and designers with basic knowledge of Blender or 3D modeling. No advanced programming is required, but familiarity with Blender’s interface is helpful.
By the end of the specialization, you will be able to design reusable assets, construct immersive 3D scenes, and render cinematic-quality environments.
